Residents happy with asphalting of 35-km Badghis road
QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): The asphalting of a 35 kilometres road linking the capital of northwestern Badghis province with Qadis district, has been completed, an official said on Tuesday.
Public Works Director Eng. Maleehasaid the project had been completed at a cost of 35 million afghanis provided from the ministry’s development budget.
She said the road, which had been damaged by last year’s flooding, took six month to be asphalted. Six culverts were also constructed on the road, the official added.
Nisar Ahmad, a resident of Qadis district, said they were pleased over the asphalting of the road. Previously they faced problems while traveling the dilapidated road, he recalled.
With the asphalting of the road, residents would be able to reach the provincial capital in half an hourinstead of two hours they needed before the projected was implemented, he concluded.
