7 killed, 25 injured as bomber hits media van in Kabul
KABUL (Pajhwok): At least seven people, including two women, were killed and another 25 sustained injuries on Wednesday evening when a suicide bomber struck a minibus carrying employees of a local TV channel near the Russian embassy in Kabul, officials said.
Kabul police chief Abdul Rahman said the attacker struck a coaster carrying employees of Kaboora Production, killing seven people and injuring 25 others
Kaboora Production, a television production company which produces programmes for Tolo TV channel, a part of the privately-owned MOBY Media Group.
Earlier, Deputy Interior Minister, Lt. Gen. Mohammad Ayub Salangi tweeted that four people had been killed and 24 others wounded in the suicide attack at Alluddin intersection in the limits of third police district.
Earlier, Ministry of Public Health spokesman Ismael Kawosi told Pajhowk Afghan News that one person had been killed and 22 others including a woman injured in the attack.
Eyewitnesses said the attacker was on a motorbike and targeted a civilian minibus in the Allauddin intersection area of Kabul on the Darul Aman road, inflicting casualties on civilians.
No group has asserted responsibility for the attack that came two days after the second round of four-nation talks in Kabul aimed at reviving the stalled peace talks.
The suicide blast set ablaze a building standing opposite the Russian Embassy in Kabul as ambulances and firefighters rushed to the scene. President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah condemned the attack.
