Ex-jihadi’s son rapes 23-year-old woman in Takhar
TALUQAN (Pajhwok): A 23-year-old woman has been raped after being kidnapped in northern Takhar province, an official said.
The unmarried woman was sexually assaulted by a high school, Abul Hassan Kharqani High School, director after kidnapping her from Taluqan, the provincial capital, a week back, the governor’s spokesman Sunatullah Taimur, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He identified the alleged rapist as Mahmood Haidari, the son of a former jihadi commander Zabit Haidari. Taimur said Haideri had escaped after raping Yaksha Gul on Tuesday.
Yaksha Gul said: “I came to Taluqan when I decided to go back home, I telephoned my brother, but Haidari blocked my way and kidnapped me by force.”
She was taken to Chinar Kunjuskah locality and was sexually attacked in a semi-unconscious state, Gul said. “I was unaware of myself and don’t know if there was only Haidari or other men involved in my rape.”
Gul, currently being kept at the police headquarters, demanded immediate arrest and punishment for Haidari.
