1 killed, 12 injured in Helmand blast
LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A doctor was killed and a dozen other people were wounded as a result of an explosion in the southern province of Helmand, officials said on Friday.
The explosion took place in the counternarcotics department at around 4:30pm when an investigation team was inspecting drugs inside a store in the department, the provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Rahman Sarjang told Pajhwok Afghan News.
An inspector doctor was killed and four others wounded in the detonation, he said.
However, a doctor in the Lashkargah Emergency Hospital said on condition of anonymity that a dozen of people have been brought to the hospital.
No one has so far asserted responsibility for the blast.
