NDS detains 8 militants in connection with attack on Tolo TV
KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel on Friday arrested an 8-member group of Haqqani Network on charge of involving in the attack on Tolo TV staff, here in Kabul, the intelligence department said.
The eight-member group of terrorists was arrested during a special operation conducted by the NDS personnel on Friday in the Husainkhel area of Bagrami district in Kabul, the spy agency said in a statement.
At least seven TOLO TV workers were killed and 26 others injured late on Wednesday as a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near the minibus at the Allauddin intersection in the limits of third police district.
“The captive terrorists were responsible for Wednesday’s attack and had affiliation with Haqqani network,” the statement said.
Since March, 2015, the NDS forces have so far seized and defused 25 explosives-laden vehicles, arrested 20 suicide attackers, seven masterminds and 10 facilitators of attacks, the statement added.
“The coward attacks of the Taliban terrorists on innocent civilians represent the weakness of the groups who think targeting the youths of the country is a big victory for them. People hate the terrorist groups especially Taliban who commit inhuman and un-Islamic acts,” the statement added.
