10 militants, 2 police killed in Badakhshan operation
FIAZABAD (Pajhwok): Ten militants and two policemen have been killed and 32 others injured during an ongoing operation in northeastern Badakhshan province, officials said on Saturday.
The offensive, launched on Friday morning by Afghan National Army (ANA), police and National Directorate of Security (NDS)personnel in Tagab district, the governor spokesman said.
Ahmad Nawin Frotan told Pajhwok Afghan News 10 militants have been killed and 22 others, including commanders Qari Abdul Basit and Qari Mahmud, wounded, said an NDS official, who wished anonymity.
Khambakha, Katubala and Kori villages had been cleared of militants,with the security personnel closing in on Khodak and Do Aabi areas, the source said, adding two have been killed and 10 others wounded in the operation.
