Some ‘misbehaving’ policemen fired in Uruzgan
TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Some policemen have been terminated in central Uruzgan province after complaints they misbehaved with people, an official said on Sunday.
Deputy provincial police chief Col. Rahimullah Khan told a press conference here that he visited Dehrawud district on Saturday and fired some police officials there after local elders complained about their ill-treatment.
“I replaced the policemen to revive people’s trust in the force,” he said, adding that the accused police had been referred to judiciary departments for interrogation.
Khan said he also activated the headquarters of Afghan Local Police and Special Forces in Dehrawud, where security forces had recaptured some areas from Taliban during an operation.
The deputy police chief asked the local police to cooperate with national police in maintaining security of the district.
