Young man found shot dead in Jawzjan
SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): A young man has been found shot dead in northern Jazwjan province and 130 kilograms of drugs confiscated in Baghlan, officials said on Sunday.
Jawzjan police found the body of Amrullah, 27, in a car whose driver was arrested on Saturday night, Crime Branch Chief Col. Abdul Hadi told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said police spotted blood inside the car and arrested the driver on the suspicion of his involvement in the murder of Amrullah, who had been shot dead.
Mohammad Rassoul Akhunzada, a civil society activist, said such incidents often resulted from disputes over assets.
Recently a rickshaw owner was found dead in Shiberghan, the provincial capital, but the reason of his death is yet to be known.
In Baghlan, National Directorate of Security (NDS) officials captured 130 kilograms of hashish in Khinjan district on the northern highway, Governor Abdul Sattar Bariz said.
He said two smugglers were also arrested who wanted to shift the contraband to capital Kabul.
