2 Afghan citizens arrested near US Consulate in Lahore
PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Two Afghan citizens have been detained near the US Consulate in Lahore, the capital of Pakistan’s Punjab province, police said.
The consulate security personnel arrested the Afghan suspects -- identified as Saboor Khan and Noorullah -- in the Shimla Pahari of Lahore on Tuesday evening.
After taking the two men in custody, Lahore police registered a case against them and launched an investigation.
Also on Tuesday, two people selling and possessing Afghan SIM cards were detained in the border town of Chaman in southwestern Balochistan province.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) apprehended the suspects, Asmatullah and Muhammad Ramazan, during a raid in Chaman, Dawn reported.
A large number of Afghan SIM cards were seized from the men, who were shifted to the FIA's centre for interrogation in Chaman.
