Afghanistan-A score 5-wicket ODI win over Zimbabwe

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Afghanistaninfo-icon-A on Saturday inflicted a five-wicket defeat on Zimbabwe-A in the first One-Day International (ODI) at the Greater Noida Sportsinfo-icon Complex in India on Saturday.

Asked to bat first, Zimbabwe rattled up 269 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 50 0vers, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) spokesman said.

Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News V Sibanda smashed 74 and PS Masavure 69 for the opposition. Another highlight of the Zimbabwean innings was a solid 43-run knock by CT Mutombodzi.

Nawaz Khan and Farid Malik captured two wickets each for Afghanistan. Shabir Noori, Sharafuddin Ashraf and Captain Javed Ahmadi had to be content with one wicket apiece, Hotak said.

Afghanistan A raced to 271 runs for the loss of five wickets, with seven deliveries to spare. Nasir Jamal (73) Rahmat Shah (56), Imran Jannat (53) and Ahmadi (46) saw their squad dry and home.
