NDS soldier among two killed in Farah
FARAH City (Pajhwok): A retired teacher was shot dead by unidentified gunmen while National Directorate of Security (NDS) soldier was killed in a roadside bombing in western Farah province, officials said on Sunday.
The retired teacher, Abdul Zahir, was on his way home on Saturday evening when two motorcyclists gunned him down in the Kharaba village of the Pusht-i-Rod village, the administrative chief of the town, Ghausuddin told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Police have so far detained no one in connection with the murder.
Mir Hamza, a resident of Masaw village where Abdul Zahir was teacher, said that the 60 years old teacher retired from job three years ago and currently he had no official job.
Separately, a NDS soldier died and another wounded on Saturday afternoon when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Soor village on the outskirts of Farah City, a member of the provincial council, Dadullah Qani said.
A soldier, Attaullah was killed and another Abdul Tahir sustained injuries in the blast, an NDS officer who wished to be unnamed, said. The injured was taken to Farah Civil Hospital, the source added.
