Kunduz governor’s secretary gunned down by police
KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): A gubernatorial secretary has been killed during a clash with police in northern Kunduz province, officials said on Tuesday.
The official came out of his house at 7pm last night near the governor’s office and his dead body was found in 300-family area of the city, the Acting GovernorHamdullah Danishi told Pajhwok Afghan News.
However, the crime branch chief, Maj. Najibullah, claimed Secretary Mohammad Zarif Sharifi opened fire on police in the locality. “In return fire, a bullet hit him in the heart. He entered a house and told the family members that Taliban had shot him.”
As area people were shifting the secretary to hospital, he succumbed to his serious wounds, Najibullah said.Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
