Would-be suicide bomber in woman’s dress held in Kunar
ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Police have arrested a would-be suicide bomber wearing a woman’s dress in eastern Kunar province, the governor said on Tuesday.
Wahidullah Kalimzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the Afghan police arrested the alleged bomber, a resident of Nari district, in Narang district.
He said the detainee wanted to target security forces, but was captured before doing so. He said no suicide vest had been recovered from the detainee, but he had confessed during investigations to planning to carry out a suicide attack.
Separately, police arrested at least four people over their alleged involvement in robberies and murders on the outskirts of Pul-i-Alam, the capital of central Logar province.
Two of the four detained individuals, residents of Logar, had robbed two million afghanis from a house recently in the limits of the eight municipal district, police spokesman Shapor Ahmadzai said.
He said the other two were involved in the murder of Col. Mobin, operations director at the police headquarters.
