Restoration of power supply to Kabul within 2 days: Gen. Murad
PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): The governor of northern Baghlan and the deputy chief of army on Wednesday assure that power supply from Uzbekistan to Kabul would restored in a couple of days.
Addressing a press conference, Governor Abdul Sattar Barez said repairs of destructed power pylons in Dand-i-Shahabuddin area had been delayed due to an ongoing operation in Dand-i-Ghori district.
The Taliban had a big presence in Dand-i-Shahabuddin area, he said, adding it was not clear when the locality would be purged of the militants, who attacked the power supply line last week.
The security personnel would help restore the power supply in the next two days, the deputy chief of army staff, Gen. Murad Ali Murad told reporters.
Some media outlets reported two day back that the militants had blown up three more power pylons in Dand-i-Shahabuddin area, causing many areas to plunge into darkness.
