Man guns down woman before joining Taliban in Badakhshan
FIAZABAD (Pajhwok): A man gunned down a woman before joining militants in northeastern Badakhshan province, officials said on Thursday.
The unidentified gunman entered the house of Bibi Samar Gul on Wednesday night, shot her dead and then joined militants in Shuhada district.
Col. Sakhi Dad Haidari, the deputy police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News they had launched investigation into the murder and were looking for the killer.
Meanwhile, Director of Women’s Affairs Zufnun Hasam Natiq said two attackers had barged into the house of the 35 years old and shot her dead after her husband Abdul Saboor (40) went to the mosque for night prayer.
The perpetrators should be identified and brought to justice as soon as possible, she said, asking the authorities to probe the incident thoroughly with a sense of urgency.
Since March 22, 2015,Bibi Gul is the sixth woman to be killed in the province but the killers have not been arrested so far.
