2,100 adults including women complete literacy trainin
AIBAK (Pajhwok): More than 2,100 adult, including 38 percent of women, have completed a nine-month literacy court in northern Samangan province, an official said on Thursday.
The 1,308 males and 819 females, between the ages of 15 and 45, attended 118 courses over nine months, said literacy section manger at the Education Department, Fairuzuddin Ahmadi.
He said third-grade certificates had been issued to the participants on the completion of the course, funded by non-governmental organisations, especially the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA).
“After getting the training, I can read addresses, telephone numbers, signboards and other things,” said one of the participants, Natasha (31), from the Mirza Barat Ali locality of Aibak said.
