3 police wounded in Farah roadside bombing
FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Three policemen were injured in a roadside bombing while explosives attached to a motorbike were defused by police in western Farah province, officials said on Thursday.
A statement from the Ministry of Interior said that an explosives-packed bike parked on the road to Balabaluck district was defused at around 6am by police.
Separately, three policemen sustained injuries when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb in the same district, said the administrative chief of the town, Mullah Sayed Mohammad. The policemen were discharged from the clinic after being administered first aid.
However, a resident of Shinwan area said two policemen were killed and three others wounded in the blast. He gave no further details of the attack.
As usual, the Taliban fighters claimed responsibility for the blast, saying all policemen aboard the vehicle suffered casualties in the bomb attack.
