3 police wounded in Farah roadside bombing

Feb 11, 2016 - 13:19

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Three policemen were injured in a roadside bombing while explosives attached to a motorbike were defused by police in western Farah province, officials said on Thursday.

A statement from the Ministry of Interior said that an explosives-packed bike parked on the road to Balabaluck district was defused at around 6am by police.

Separately, three policemen sustained injuries when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb in the same district, said the administrative chief of the town, Mullahinfo-icon Sayed Mohammad. The policemen were discharged from the clinic after being administered first aid.

However, a resident of Shinwan area said two policemen were killed and three others wounded in the blast. He gave no further details of the attack.

As usual, the Talibaninfo-icon fighters claimed responsibility for the blast, saying all policemen aboard the vehicle suffered casualties in the bomb attack.
