Taliban’s bomb-making expert killed in Faryab explosion
MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A bomb-making expert of Taliban fighters was killed and three of his associates were injured as a result of a blast in northern Faryab province, officials said on Sunday.
The expert was training fighters on how to use explosive devices in the Biland Ghor area of Qaisar district on Saturday evening when the bomb they had went off, an army official said.
Spokesman for 209th Shaheen Military Corps Maj. Reza Rezaee told Pajhwok Afghan News the bomb-maker was killed and three other Taliban insurgents were wounded and their four motorbikes destroyed.
Qaisar district’s administrative chief Rahmatullah Qaisari identified the bomb-making expert as Agha Jan, hailing from southern Helmand province. He had come to Faryab for training local Taliban.
