JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Fifteen Daesh -- or so-called Islamic State (IS) -- fighters have been killed as a result of a drone strike in the Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Thursday.
The attack was carried out by foreign troops on Wednesday night in the Mamond area of Achin district, killing 15 militants, police spokesman, Lt. Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
In addition to the drone attack, successful ground operations by Afghan security forces were also ongoing in the restive district near the Pakistan border, he said.
