13 killed, 18 injured in Parwan suicide blast
CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): More than a dozen people including local policemen and civilians were killed and another 18 people were wounded in a suicide attack in the Seyagard district of central Parwan province on Monday afternoon.
The dead included nine civilians and four Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel and the injured included 17 civilians and one ALP personnel, said Parwan police chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Zamam Mamozai. He told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident took place at about 3pm in the district bazaar in front of a health clinic.
The Seyagard district chief, Mohammad Saeeed Saeed, said the target of the suicide bombing was ALP forces, saying the injured included the district ALP commander Mushtaq.
A Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the suicide attack was carried out Mohammad Rassoul, a resident of southeastern Paktia province. He said the attack killed ALP commanders namely Mustaq, Naqibullah, Khalil and other policemen in the district.
