6 rebels, 2 policemen killed in fresh bout of violence
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least six militants and two policemen have been killed in separate security incidents in eastern Nangarhar and southern Zabul provinces, officials said Monday.
According to a statement from Silab Military Corps office in eastern zone, six militants were killed during an ongoing operation in eastern Laghman province on Sunday.
The source said that security forces and civilians suffered no casualties in the operation.
Elsewhere, two policemen were killed during a militants’ attack in Zabul province.
The policemen were killed during a militants’ ambush in Khan village of Shah Joy district on Sunday evening, Wazir Mohammad, the district chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
However, a security official wishing not to be named said that three policemen were killed in Taliban ambush.
Militants did not comment so far on the incident.
