Kidnap gang busted in Kabul, child rescued
KABUL (Pajhwok): The spy service on Tuesday said its operatives had busted a five-member kidnap gang and rescued a child from their captivity.
A statement from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said the group had kidnapped the 14-year-old boy, Aminullah, from Kabul’s 10th police district.
They had been keeping the boy in Shakar Dara district of Kabul province until the group was busted yesterday night during an operation by the NDS special forces, the statement said.
The kidnappers had sought $200,000 from the boy’s family in ransom, the statement said, identifying the detainees as gang leader Shafi aka Abdul Aziz, Farshad, Tooryalai, Faridon and Tooryalai son of Khudaidad.
The statement said the group had been involved in a series of kidnappings.
