1 child killed, 3 wounded by Taliban-planted bomb in Logar
PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): One child has been killed and three others have been wounded in a landmine explosion in the Charkh district of central Logar province, an official said on Wednesday.
Khalilullah Kamal, the town’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban-planted roadside bomb exploded in Khwaja Ismail villagelate on Tuesday.
He said the landmine had been planted in an area between the main Masjid and Khwaja Ismail Shrine. He regretted the casualties suffered by innocent children.
Kamal added the improvised explosive device had been implanted on a rote used by common people, not security forces.
Abdul Hameed, a resident of locality, said mosque-going children usually used the route. Last evening, some of them were hit by the explosion. He said no one had been arrested so far.
