QALAT (Pajhwok): Two deminers have been injured in a militant attack in southern Zabul province, an official said on Thursday.
The deminers came under attack on their way from Qalat to Shinkai district in Katili Manda area on Wednesday afternoon, the district police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Hamayon Gulzarsaid two demining workers were wounded, one critically, in the incident. The official gave no more details.
Gul Ahmad, one of the wounded deminers, said they were heading from the provincial capital to Shinkai district when the gunmen fired at them.
He added the assailants signaled them to stop their car but they continued driving.As a result, the gunmen fired on them.No any grouphas so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
