70 suspected criminals detained in Herat
HEART CITY (Pajhwok): Police on Saturday said they had arrested 70 individuals in 10 days for allegedly committing various crimes in western Herat province.
Police Chief Maj. Gen. Abdul Majid Rozi told reporters here that the detained persons faced charges ranging from terrorism, kidnapping, murder to drug smuggling.
He said the detainees included 13 Taliban fighters and some notorious commanders who wanted to carry out subversive activities in the city.
Police also recovered two arms caches from the house of Abdullah Akbari, a Taliban commander in Guzra district, he said.
