Women farmers’ contribution to food security praised
MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok):Thirty women farmers from northern Balkh province have been honoured for their important contributions in the agricultural sector as part of International Women’s Daycelebrations.
Representatives from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and provincial government offices attended the event in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital.
USAID’s Regional Agricultural Development Program, North (RADP-N) and the Women’s Empowerment Working Group (WEWG) seized the opportunity to recognise challenges still faced by women in the agriculture sector.
