4-km road graveled in Nimroz
ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Transportation facility was provided for thousands of families with the graveling of a 4-kilometre road in the Chaghansor district of southwestern Nimroz province, officials said on Friday.
The road has been gravel over the past six months at a total cost of 9.6 million afghanis under the National Rural Access Programme (NRAP) of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD), the acting director of Rural Rehabilitation and Development department, Eng. Farid Ahmad Azami told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Up to 17 small bridges were also constructed along the road which would resolve people’s transpiration problems in 18 villages of the Chaghansor district, he said.
While happy over the construction of the road a resident of the district, Juma Khan, said the road directly linked with Zaranj-Dilaram highway, so it would enable farmers to transfer their agricultural produce to market in Zaranj with lower transportation cost.
In addition to marketing facility for their goods, the people of the district would take their patients to hospitals on time, he said.
Nimroz Governor Mohammad Sami said the graveling of the road would positively affect the security of the district as the security forces would easily access the areas in case of any incidents.
