ANA arrests injured suicide bomber in Helmand

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Two militants including a suicide bomber have been killed and four others injured in separate security incidents in Helmand, Zabul and Uruzgan provinces, Afghan army said on Friday.

The Afghan National Army (ANA) had identified two suicide bombers traveling on a car in the Du Rahi area of Lashkargah, the provincial capital of Helmand, but a bomber detonated his explosives as the security personnel tried to arrest them, a statement from the 205th Atal military crops said.

A suicide bomber was killed and another injured who was shifted to zonal hospital of the military crops, the statement added.

Meanwhile, a Talibaninfo-icon fighter was killed and three others wounded during an operation in the Sya-wa-Sang area of Dehrawood district in Uruzgan, the statement said.

Five bombs were also defused by the Afghan forces in the Nawbahar, Shahr-i-Safa and Watghar districts of Zabul province, the statement further said.

However, the Taliban claimed in a statement on their website that they killed four Afghan soldiers and injured two others during a clash in Dehrawood district of Uruzgan. They also claimed killing of four policemen and injuring five others in Grishk district of Helmand.
