2 civilians killed, 1 wounded in Kandahar attack
KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Two civilians were gunned down and a third injured when two motorcyclists opened fire at them in Kandahar City, the capital of southern Kandahar province, officials said on Sunday.
The incident took place on Saturday afternoon in the jurisdiction of the 3rd police district, the governor’s spokesman, Samim Khpalwak, confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News. Police have launched an investigation into the attack.
A shopkeeper in a nearby area, Mohammad Naeem, said the motorcyclists targeted a person in a car, but killed a 12-year-old boy and injured a passerby. The attackers were able to flee from the scene, he said.
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the murder.
