Stanikzai appeals to ICC for more chances
KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan cricket captain Asghar Stanikzai has appealed to the ICC to give his team enough chances, saying his side knew how to beat the big guns.
Stanikzai said many associates teams had been playing for the last 30-40 years and participating in World Cup tournaments, but the Afghans were playing at the elite level only recently.
“We have really done well something other nations could not do it in 30-40 years," Stanikzai said. He said Afghanistan needed big games with full ICC members to increase their level of experience.
He argued if Afghanistan continued to play against associates, they would only learn from each others and their experience would boost if they took on full members.
