Supporting Afghan forces ‘a religious duty’: Muslimyar
“All of the people should support the system, we should raise our voice against things which are against the law. Taliban and Daesh are our enemies and we will continue our struggle against them,” Muslimyar said.
The Senate chairman said the Afghan security personnel were the sons of the soil and they were fighting to defend the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. “And their fight is jihad,” he said.
“It is our religious duty to support our security personnel,” he said, adding the Afghan security forces were defending the country and their resistance against insurgents represented the victory of Afghans.
Muslimyar also welcomed the Hezb-i-Islami Afghanistan (HIA) led by Gulbuddin Hikmatyar’s decision to join the peace talks.
“We welcome the move and ask them to present their demands in accordance with the law,” he said.
Muslimyar also called on Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor to seize the opportunity for peace and stability of the country.
