Supporting Afghan forces ‘a religious duty’: Muslimyar

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Meshrano Jirgainfo-icon chairman Fazl Hadi Muslimyar on Saturday it was an obligation for the Afghans to support their security forces against insurgents.

 “All of the people should support the system, we should raise our voice against things which are against the law. Talibaninfo-icon and Daesh are our enemies and we will continue our struggle against them,” Muslimyar said.

The Senate chairman said the Afghan security personnel were the sons of the soil and they were fighting to defend the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. “And their fight is jihadinfo-icon,” he said.

“It is our religious duty to support our security personnel,” he said, adding the Afghan security forces were defending the country and their resistance against insurgents represented the victory of Afghans.

“Although the outgoing solar yearinfo-icon was full of security and economic challenges for the government, the enemies of Afghanistaninfo-icon could not reach their goals,” he said.

Muslimyar also welcomed the Hezb-i-Islamiinfo-icon Afghanistan (HIA) led by Gulbuddin Hikmatyar’s decision to join the peace talks.

“We welcome the move and ask them to present their demands in accordance with the law,” he said.

Muslimyar also called on Taliban leader Mullahinfo-icon Akhtar Mansoor to seize the opportunity for peace and stability of the country.
