1 ANA soldier killed, 6 injured in Kunar blast
ASADABAD (Pajhwok): One Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier was killed and another seven, including one civilian, were wounded on Thursday when a magnetic bomb attached to the ANA vehicle went off in eastern Kunar province, officials said.
Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel, the police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Tisha area of Asadabad, the provincial capital, at around 3:00pm.
He said the Ranger pick-up was en route to Asadabad from Sarkano district when the bomb fixed to it exploded, slightly injuring two ANA soldiers and partially damaging their vehicle.
But public health director Dr. Ihsanullah Fazli told Pajhwok Afghan News they had received one dead body and six injured soldiers.
A wounded civilian was also evacuated to the civil hospital and all the injured had been discharged after first medical treatment.
Fazli said a similar blast hit a police vehicle on Thursday morning in Asadabad, but there were no casualties.
