Atal corps senior official dead in Taliban attack
KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Civilian deputy head of 205th Atal Military Corps and his bodyguard have been killed by the Taliban in the Dand district of southern Kandahar province, an official said on Friday.
Col. Muhsin Sultani, spokesman for the Atal Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Khan Agha and his guard were shot dead in Salo Khan Kariz locality. The incident happened at around 10:00pm Thursday.
Security officials, however, shot dead the assailants in the retaliatory firing. The slain Khan Agha’s son was also wounded in the attack.
According to Sultani, Khan Agha was on his way when came under attack. Taliban took responsibility for the attack, the group in its website said that two Taliban suicide bombers entered to the guest house of Khan Agha in which he and his companions had been killed.
