Daesh families arrive in Kunar’s Sarkano district: Syedkhel
ASADABAD (Pajhwok): As many as 85 families of Islamic State (IS) or in its Arabic acronym --- Daesh --- have arrived in eastern Kunar province after fleeing military offensive in the Achin district of Nangrahar, an official said on Friday.
Police Chief Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News these families had been settled in the Shongri locality of Sarkano district.
He said according to reports Daesh leader in Afghanistan Hafiz Saeed also lived with these families who came here.
He said IS militants may try to destabilize Kunar, but the people of the province would not allow them.
