To assist the poor, ‘Wall of Kindness’ set up in Kandahar
KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): A “Wall of Kindness” has been set up in the capital of southern Kandahar province by a youth federation to attract assistance for poor people.
Kandahar Youth Federation head Agha Wali Barani said they set up the wall of kindness to appeal to government, traders and well-off people and seek their help in assisting poor and elderly people.
Meanwhile, Kandahar information and culture director Hazrat Wali Hotak urged wealthy people and traders to cooperate with organizers of the wall in delivering assistance to the poor people.
He asked the youth federation to extend the process to districts as well.
Poor families in various parts of the city welcomed the initiative and urged government officials and traders to play their part in appreciating it.
The culture of helping the poor has a history in Kandahar, but it is for the first time that a Wall of Kindness has been established here.
Similar walls have earlier been set up in Kabul, Balkh, Bamyan, Herat, Kunduz and other provinces.
