4 relatives of Wolesi Jirga speaker die in Kunduz collision
KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): At least four relatives of the Wolesi Jirga speaker have been killed and seven others injured in a collision in northeastern Kunduz province, an official said on Monday.
Imamuddin Quraishi, the administrative chief for Imam Sahib district, told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place last night when the car carrying Speaker Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi’s relatives crashed into a truck.
They were travelling in the car of Haji Amanullah Ibrahimi, a cousin of the speaker. Four members of the district police chief’s family were killed and seven others injured in the collision in Abdan area, Quraishi said.
The dead included the police officer’s mother, son and two daughters. The injured were evacuated to Kunduz Civil Hospital. Two of them are in critical condition. Quraishi linked the accident to the trucker’s rash driving. The driver has been detained.
