4 killed, 15 wounded in bomb attack on ex-senator
KABUL (Pajhwok): A former senator survived a bomb attack that left at least four people dead and 15 others wounded in the capital Kabul on Tuesday.
Ex-senator Gul Afghan told Pajhwok Afghan News he was traveling in his car along with his bodyguards when the bomb exploded 30 meters from them in Panjsher Watt area at 9:30am.
He said the bomb placed under a bridge killed a man, a woman and two children, wounding 15 others, including his three bodyguards.
All other victims were pedestrians, Afghan said, adding his vehicle was not damaged but four other cars were harmed by the explosion. A power pylon also damaged, snapping electricity supply.
However, Kabul crime branch chief, Brig. Gen. Faridoon Obaidi said it was a sound bomb. He had no information about casualties but said details about casualties would be shared later with the media. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
