7 rebels, as many Afghan soldiers killed in Herat, Kandahar
KABUL (Pajhwok): Seven insurgents, as many Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers have been killed and 14 other militants wounded in western Herat and southern Kandahar provinces, the Ministry of Defence said on Friday.
Five militants were eliminated and 10 others wounded on Thursday during an ANA operation in the Ghorak district of Kandahar, a statement from the ministry, said.
Seven ANA soldiers were also killed in the offensive, the statement added.
Separately, two bomb making experts were perished by their own explosives in Herat province. Four other rebels and a child were injured in the detonation, the statement added.
