Spanta trying to destroy the system, alleges Osmani

Spanta trying to destroy the system, alleges Osmani

Apr 02, 2016 - 20:32

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Water and Energy Minister Ali Ahmad Osmani on Saturday accused former national security advisor Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta of struggling to destroy the system.

Osmani, who arrived here, told a gathering marking the International Water Day at the Herat University, Spanta had raised concerns among people with his latest remarks.

He said Spanta had said some provinces could fall to Talibaninfo-icon in near future. “Was he informed by God or Mullahinfo-icon Rasool and Mullah Akhtar Mansoor? If he has no links with Taliban, how can he predict this,” Osmani said. Both Osmani and Spanta belong to Herat province.

The minister said Afghanistaninfo-icon had inherited the current security threats from former president Hamid Karzai government, when Spnata was his national security advisor.

“By creating fears among people, investments will be withdrawn and the youth will leave the country. People predicting bleak future will be responsible for any bad results,” he said.

Last week, Spanta told a gathering at the house of former energy and water minister and jihadi figure Mohammad Ismael Khan that the country’s security situation would become worse and even some districts and provinces would fall to militants this year due to weak policies of the unity government.
