District chief among 4 Thakar officials dismissed, referred to AGO
TALUQAN (Pajhwok): Four top officials of Rustaq district in northern Takhar province have been dismissed and referred to the Attorney General Office (AGO) for investigation following the killing of Provincial Council Member Ainuddin Rustaqi, a statement from the governor house said on Friday.
The dismissal of district chief, district police chief deputy police chief and mayor happened due to the target killing of provincial council member, the statement said.
Rustaqi and his three guards were killed a couple of days earlier in an exchange of gunfire between him and Peram Qul Ziae, former member of Wolesi Jirga.
On Thursday tens of residents staged a protest and alleged Ziae, who is also member of Jumbish-i-Islami for the killing of Rustaqi.
