3 civilians shot dead in Zabul
QALAT (Pajhwok): Three civilians were killed and as many other people injured as a result of insurgent attack in southern Zabul province, an official said on Saturday.
The incident took place on Friday afternoon when people gathered to play games near Tarang River on the outskirts of Qalat, the provincial capital of Zabul, the deputy police chief, Ghulam Jilani Farahi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
A referee of cricket game was among three civilians killed, a policeman and two civilians wounded in the attack, he said adding the police have launched investigation into the case.
No insurgent group has so far asserted responsibility for the attack.
