Russia renews support to Afghan peace process
KABUL (Pajhwok): Russian Ambassador in Kabul Alexander Mantytskiy has said his country supports the Afghan peace process, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)’s office said on Saturday.
First deputy CEO Eng. Mohammad Khan and Mantytskiy, who met in the former’s office, insisted on enhanced bilateral relations and called a secure Afghanistan in the interest of the region, the statement said, adding they hoped that the peace talks would be successfully advanced.
Mantytskiy once against assured the Afghan government of his country’s support for the Afghan-led peace process and asked militants to join the process for the sake of lasting peace in Afghanistan, the statement added.
Khan thanked Russia for its assistance with Afghanistan over the past 14 years and asked the federation to continue its assistance with the unity government in security, political and economic spheres.
The Afghan official also invited Russia to invest in Afghanistan in order to end joblessness in the country and prevent the Afghan youth from fleeing the country, the statement said.
