Badakhshan University to have more classrooms
FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A 30-room building is being constructed on the university campus in northeastern Badakhshan University to accommodate eighty percent students, an official said on Monday.
Construction of the building, a 43 million afghanis project, was recently launched on one-fourth of an acre of land with financial support from the Ministry of Higher Education.
Khisraw Nazari, the university chancellor, said currently the economics, computer science, education, social studies and Sharia and law faculties lacked classrooms.
“With completion of this building, 80 percent problem of classrooms shortage will be resolved”.
The three-storey structure would have more than 30 classrooms, said Eng. Mohammad Jawad, the contractor. He said the building would have the capacity to accommodate 400 students and would be the largest building on the campus.
The university has faculties including literature, agriculture, education, economics, political science, Sharia, law, computer science and social studies. Around 50,000 students are currently taught by 140 teachers in the university.
