‘Afghanistan fighting terrorism on world’s behalf’
Ministry of Interior spokesman Seddiq Seddiqqi told a press conference here that the insurgents should know they could not hurt the morale of Afghan security forces and the people with their terrorist attacks.
“Those who are in control of others can never reach their goals. We would use all of our force to prevent insurgent attacks,” he said, adding the rebel attacks were crime against humanity and a clear attack on the people of Afghanistan.
He said Afghanistan had been fighting against terrorism on behalf of the entire world and the fight was not for Afghanistan security only, but for the entire world’s security.
Ministry of Defence (MoD) spokesman Dawlat Waziri said Afghanistan had always tried to befriend Pakistan, but leaders of that country never honoured their pledges.
“The continuation of the war is not in Pakistan interest. If the war continues, the people of Afghanistan will not remain silent and will react,” he said, while asking the Pakistani government to keep its promises.
“There are Chechen, Tajik, Uzbek, Arab and Punjabi insurgents fighting in Afghanistan and today’s brazen attack shows it is the war of others but imposed on us,” he said.
