A Taliban commander eliminated in Logar
PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A Taliban key commander for Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital of central Logar, was killed and his two fighters were arrested by Afghan forces in the province, an official said on Friday.
The Taliban commander, Mullah Rahim, was killed and his two comrades were detained on Friday morning during an operation conducted by National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel in the Bari Dasht area on the outskirts of Pul-i-Alam.
A motorcycle, two bombs and some documents were recovered from the rebels, he said adding Mullah Rahim had been designated as Taliban commander for Pul-i-Alam.
Taliban fighters have so far issued no comment regarding the death of their commander in Logar.
