Nimroz water supply department to have own building
ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Construction work on a building or the water supply department was launched in the southwestern province of Nimroz on Monday.
The building is part of development projects that commenced seven months, Director of Rehabilitation and Rural DevelopmentEng. Farid Azimtold Pajhwok Afghan News.
The project would be constructed at a cost of 479 million afghanis from the budget of the Ministry of Rehabilitation and Rural Development (MRRD).
A water supply pipeline being constructed in Zaranj is also part of the scheme, which has been implemented 50 percent. The construction of three water reservoirs is also in progress, a project that will take 18 months to complete.
The two-storey building would be constructed on 493 square metres of land and will have 20 rooms.
Water Supply Director Eng. Abdul Ghafar Sadid said staffers of the department had been working in three rented rooms. But with the construction of the building, staff will be able to deliver better services for the people.
Governor Mohammad Sami, happy with work on the projects,assured: “All the threeparts of the scheme will be completed on time and will resolve the problem of drinking water in Zaranj.”
