President meets Abasin’s father, offers condolences
KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani met the father of a 14-year-old boy Abasin who was found dead after being kidnapped and offered his condolences to the bereaved family, the Presidential Palace said on Saturday.
Ghani directed the authorities concerned to strictly follow the kidnap-killing case and ensure that justice was enforced on the perpetrators.
Abasin was kidnapped in the Kart-i-Naw area of Kabul about two months ago. A few days after his abduction, the kidnappers cut off one of his fingers. The boy was later killed after being severely tortured.
The kidnappers had sought a huge ransom from Abasin’s family in exchange for his release. The body of the child was found in the Khak-i-Jabbar district of the capital two days ago.
Hundreds of people attended his funeral offered yesterday in Kabul. A protest rally was also held that condemned the incident and asked the president to order hanged Abasin’s killers in public.
