1,000 graduates to get professional accounting training

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): As many as 1,000 fresh high school graduates would be imparted an 18-month online training in professional accounting by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in Kabul, an official said on Saturday.

Mohammad Aqa Kohistani, head of the Finance Ministry’s treasury department, told reporters here 400 students, half of them girls, had been selected through an open competition.

He said the completion of 12th grade, somehow knowledge of mathematics and English language were the criteria for eligibility to sit the examination.

He said ACCA would soon launch training 400 students by teachers from Karwan, the American University and other institutions.

Officials in the Finance Ministry said foreign advisors have been working over the past 14 years in the ministry discharging accounting related matters, but participants of the training would replace them after completing the vital training.
