5 ALP personnel among 15 killed in separate attacks
KABUL (Pajhwok): Ten insurgents and five security personnel have been killed in separate attacks in Kunduz, Zabul and Farah provinces, officials said on Tuesday.
The vehicle carrying the militants came under attack in the Nah-r-Sufi area of Chardara district, the town’s administrative head said.
Zalmai Farooqi added the coalition airstrike, based on a tip-off, left seven fighters dead and two others wounded.
He said the Taliban had snatched the pick-up from police (ANP) last year. The vehicle was destroyed in the airstrike.
Five police personnel were killed in a Taliban attack on their checkpoint in the Nawbahar district of southernZabul province.
Police chief, Col. Ghulam Jilani Farahi, said five Afghan Local Police (ALP) members were killed and two others wounded in the assault.
In northwestern Faryab province, three rebels were killed and five others injured after they stormed police’s posts in the Qala Kalan area of Pashtun Kot district.
