Taliban hang two policemen in Paktika
SHARANA (Pajhwok): Taliban insurgents on Tuesday hanged two former policemen in southeastern Paktika province, officials said.
The provincial police chief, Col. Dadullah Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban strung up the two ex-policemen in Janikhel district of the province. “Both the slain men had served as police earlier but they have recently quit their jobs”, he said.
A resident of the Janikhel district, Abdullah said Taliban held captive two policemen three days ago on their way home in Goshta locality of the district.
He said the insurgents on Tuesday morning publicly hanged the two policemen to death.
A police source said that two days back, the police killed six insurgents who had worn Kuchis’ outfits, in a tactical offensive, so the rebels revenged the death of their fighters by killing two policemen.
There has been no word from Taliban regarding the execution.
